About this Workshop

Learn how to create a beaded PopSocket using a two-needling beading technique in an interactive online workshop! This workshop will teach you the basics of beading and how beadwork is an important cultural art practice in Indigenous communities. Instruction is meant for beginners though all levels of ability are welcome!

What’s Included

Workshop fees include guided instruction, a 3 hour Zoom session, a beading kit with everything you need to create your very own phone grab. Workshop kits are shipped straight to your door and shipping fees are included. (Free Shipping in Canada only). Below are the materials provided:

  • Two needles

  • Thread

  • Beads in 4 colour variations

  • 1 3M PopSocket
  •  Beading Felt backing
  • Cabachon
  • Jewelry adhesive

  • Beading mat

 

Important: Please register by Friday, May. 20th to ensure you receive your workshop materials in time. A zoom link will be emailed to you the day before your scheduled class date. Workshop is open to participants in Canada and the US to guarantee delivery times. All participants will have access to a replay recording following the live session. 

About your Instructor

Adrienne Larocque is a Nehiyaw Iskwew (Plains Cree Woman) from Maskwacis. She is the owner and Artist behind Kihew and Rose. Her beading style integrates traditional techniques in a contemporary aesthetic to create wearable beaded art and jewelry. Adrienne has been on a journey of reclaiming her culture through Indigenous Art practices and Beadwork is central to this journey. Through her work, she hopes to create safe spaces to share her knowledge and encourage others to begin their own journey through beading.
